Brittany Walker Named January Rotary Student of the Month

Congratulations to Brittany Walker, the January Rotary Student of the Month. Ms. Walker has been a team player for the past 5 years and now has the honor of being captain of both the Varsity Field Hockey and Basketball team. She has received the Coach’s Award in both sports, and the Unsung Hero Award and All Division for field hockey. Brittany is the Vice President of her senior class, President of Model UN, Co-President of Interact, Founder and President of the Wellness Club, and the Vice President of DECA. She has been on the High Honor roll every quarter, and is also a scholar athlete. Walker is also a member of the National Hispanic Honor Society and is Vice President of the National Honor Society. She is a member of the Math League where she won the American Scholastic Mathematic Association Highest Scoring Award. Brittany has participated in Feed Long Island and multiple Relay for Life events. She also coordinates an annual hat and glove drive with her family. When she is not in school, Brittany has been a competitive cheerleader and competed throughout the east coast and was captain of the East Marion Junior Fire Department. Another passion is dance, where she has enjoyed many genres since she was 3 years old. One of her proudest moments was being given the honor of receiving the Thomas Cutinella Award this past fall in recognition of her acts of kindness and selflessness. She is currently ranked number 3 in her class and will be graduating with an Advanced Regents Diploma with a Mastery in Science and 29 college credit hours. Brittany plans to further her education at a southern university.
