Advanced Placement Update

Dear Families,

For those students who are enrolled in an Advanced Placement class this school year, please review the updates below. We will be following up once we learn more about the dates for the online exams. Please contact your teacher or Ms. Hopkins with any questions.

AP Updates for Schools Impacted by the Coronavirus

 

  • For the 2019–20 exam administration only, students can take a 45-minute online free-response exam at home.

  • Students will be able to take these streamlined exams on any device they have access to—computer, tablet, or smartphone

  • There will be two test dates to choose from – they have not been determined yet.

  • Collegeboard has released units that will be covered on the exam as well as updated dates to submit portfolios for those classes that have them:

    • AP Calculus AB – Units 1 – 7 will be covered

    • AP English Language & Composition – Units 1 – 7 covered

    • AP English Literature & Composition – Units 1 – 7 covered

    • AP Environmental Science – Units 1 – 7 covered

    • AP Microeconomics – Units 1 – 5 covered

    • AP Research – academic paper only – no presentation.  Digital portfolio due May 26

    • AP Seminar – No end of year exam, Individual research report and written argument only, no team or individual presentations. Digital portfolio due May 26

    • AP US History- units 1 – 7 covered

    • AP World History – Units 1 – 6 covered

  • Beginning on Wednesday, March 25, students and teachers can attend free, live AP review courses, delivered by AP teachers from across the country. To access the live classes and recordings, visit the AP YouTube channel – schedule is as follows:

    • 11-11:45am ET  U.S. History • •

    • 12-12:45pm ET English Lit  • •

    • 1-1:45pm ET Environmental Science  • •

    • 2-2:45pm ET Calculus AB • •

    • 6-6:45pm ET World History:  Modern
