Attention all athletes who plan on playing a winter sport. Please check with Mrs. Dinizio to confirm if you need a new physical. There are many of you who need to up date your physical and  will not be able to participate in a winter sport. Stop in the Ad’s office to set up your appointment for one.

Attention Juniors:  Please hand in your Job Shadow Day permission slips to Mrs. Hopkins by tomorrow..  


Homecoming ballots are due today by 5 pm. Please take a moment to log onto your school email and vote.


Any student interested in being involved with Tech or stage crew for this year’s school productions and assemblies, there will be a meeting tomorrow after school in the small gym.


Congratulations to the Varsity Field Hockey team on their win against Sayville. Goals were scored by Madison tabor with an assist from Toni Esposito and a goal scored by Madison Hilton with an assist from Madison Tabor


Congratulations to the JH girls field hockey team with their 1-1 tie against Southampton.  The goal was scored by Ava Torres with an assist by Angelina Higgins. Great job girls.  Keep up the good work.


Congratulations to the Boys JH soccer team on their 7-0 win over Southold yesterday. Goals were scored by Justin Lopez, Keven Azama, Johan Esquivel, and Diego Giron. The defense and goalies played great and it was an overall great team win!


Attention Seniors:

Please sign up in the guidance office to help out at the Spaghetti Dinner (October 5th), Concession Stand (October 6th) and Homecoming Concession Stand (October 7th).

Please pick up your Holey Moses Cheesecake & Pies fundraiser from Mrs. Hopkins.

The vote is in….the senior trip for the Class of 2017 is Tampa/Clearwater Florida.  If you are plan on going, please sign up in the guidance office.

Reminder:  seniors who signed up to go on the College Tour to Adelphi University and SUNY Farmingdale on Thursday, October 20th, your permission slip and money will be due by October 11th.  There are still spots available if you would like to attend!!!


Reminder that today is picture day. English Teachers please take  your students down during their English class. Faculty and Staff you may also get your picture taken during the day on your free period. Students please give your payment envelope to the photographers.

The next DECA Club Meeting will be on Tuesday, October 4, at 5:30 pm in the Elementary Library.  We will vote on club officers at this meeting.  If you want to join but cannot make this meeting, please add your name to the DECA list outside the Guidance Office.


Attention Seniors, there will be a mandatory class meeting today during 9th period. Mrs. Hopkins will be meeting with you in room 210.  We have several items to discuss.


Attention all middle school and HS chorus members!  If you have chorus today be sure to bring work to do or a book to read!  Once again bring a book or some work to do to chorus today!


Tomorrow is HS picture day. ALL STUDENTS will have their picture taken for their school ID during their English classes. This is the only way you can get a school ID, so do not miss your chance.  If you would like to purchase a photo package, please bring your order form with you and turn into the photographers from Lifetouch.

Friday, September 30th at 8:05am, St. Joseph’s College of Maine; located in Standish, Maine.  The most popular majors are the Health Professions, Business/Marketing and Education.

Friday, September 30th at 11am, SUNY Geneseo; located in Geneseo, New York.  The most popular majors are Social Sciences, Psychology, Business/Marketing, and Biology.

If you would like to meet with the college rep; please get a pass from guidance.

Tuesday, September 27th, 2016 A Day

Attention Juniors:  Please hand in your Job Shadow Day permission slips to Mrs. Hopkins by this Friday, September 30th.  


Attention Seniors:  A few items:

1. Please pick up your spaghetti dinner tickets from Mrs. Kollen or Mrs. Hopkins.  The money is due back by Tuesday, October 4th.

2.  Please sign up to bring a dessert and/or help at the spaghetti dinner.  The dinner is scheduled for Wednesday, October 5th at 5pm.

3.  Please sign up to help out at the concession stands, Thursday, October 6th (Varsity soccer playing under the lights) and Friday, October 7th (Homecoming).  All sign up sheets are on Mrs. Hopkins’ door.

4.  Please start brainstorming ideas for the Homecoming video.  All songs, ideas and final video must be approved by Mrs. Kollen and Mrs. Hopkins before being approved by administration.


Attention all students in grades 9 – 12:

1:   Homecoming ballots were emailed to your school email yesterday.  Please check your school email ASAP and vote for your class homecoming court.  Another ballot will be sent Wednesday morning for you to vote for Homecoming King and Queen.


2:  Student Council will meet today at 5:30 PM in High School Library.  All class officers are required to attend.  Other interested students are welcome.  Final Homecoming and Spirit Week plans will be discussed.  See Mrs. Richter with questions or conflicts.


3.  Tickets are on sale for the 2016 Homecoming dance.  The dance is this Thursday, September 29th, from 7 – 9:30 in the small gym.  If you plan to bring a guest from outside Greenport School you must use a “Guest Dance Permission Slip” available from Mrs. Richter or Mrs. Peterson.  Tickets are $10 before the dance, $15 at the door.  See Mrs. Richter with questions.

Attention all 7th and 8th graders there will be a Junior High Interact Meeting Today at 6:30pm in rm 303.  We will be planning projects for this school year.  All are welcome, please see Mrs. Johnstone or Mrs. Mazzaferro if you have any questions.  


JV Boys’ soccer lost to Ross yesterday  5 to 1. But in the second half they only allowed 1 goal with so many saves by Tyler Cacace and a one touch midfield goal by


David Jenkins. Congratulations on a great effort.

Southold College Tour Announcement

Southold High School has extended an invitation to our 11th grade students to participate in an overnight college tour.  The purpose of this college tour is primarily for students to gain an understanding of the different types of colleges and environments that are available.
The College Tour will take place on Thursday, October 20th through Friday October 21st.  Students will be visiting the University of Rhode Island, Salve Regina University, Johnson & Wales University, Providence College and Brown University in Rhode Island.  The cost of the trip is $250 (payable to Southold UFSD) which is due to Mrs. Hopkins by 9/28.  For more information and paperwork, please contact Mrs. Hopkins in the guidance office.
