Ms. Douglass and all the chaperones would like to thank all the prom goers for the “Enchanted Evening” this past weekend.  Congratulations to our newly crowned royalty: Junior Court Gerson Gonzalez and Jessica Villareal, Senior Court Carlos Campos and Jules Atkins, and King Drew Wolf and Queen Paige Wachtel.  If you did not take your prom glasses or picture frames or would just like another, please see Ms. Douglass for the extras.


Attention Acappella!  Practice will be right after school on Thursday.  You must all be in attendance. Bring in your Acappella t-shirt ironed and on a hanger.  See Mrs. Cabral with any conflicts ASAP!

8th Grade Enjoyed Trip to Liberty Island the Freedom Tower

The rain and cold did not stop the 8th Grade class from having a great time on the trip to Liberty Island and The Freedom Tower in New York City! Students explored Liberty Island and saw the amazing views of the city from the pedestal. After visiting the Statue of Liberty students ate at Eataly and walked through the oculus to the Freedom Tower. There they visited the One World Observatory. It was a day they will never forget!

Any student who would like to get a physical at the end of the year so that they are covered for the entire year next year for sports, should sign up with Mrs. Dinizio in the Athletic office.

The JV Baseball team finished off their season with an impressive 11-1 victory over Wyandanch at home yesterday. The Porters were led by strong pitching from Zach Riggins, Josh Santacroce, and Tommy Tsaveras. Riggins started the game, pitching four and a third innings with 12 strikeouts.  Offensively, the team combined for a whopping eleven hits. Ivan Tapia broke the game open in the third with a bases loaded double which scored two runs.

Great work guys! Way to finish the season strong!

DECLAN CROWLEY PITCHED ONE INNING AND HAD 2 STRIKE OUTS, ONE HIT AND ONE RUN, AIMEN TABOR PITCHED 5 INNINGS WITH 5 STRIKEOUTS DID A GREAT JOB ON DEFENSE.


DELCAN AND JUSTUS HORTON ALSO PLAYED EXCELLENT DEFENSE WHILE JUSTUS ADDED 1 RBI AND SCORED TWICE TO PUT US AHEAD


THEO GREENFIELD PLAYED AN EXCELLENT THIRD BASE WHILE PUTTING US BACK AHEAD IN THE FOURTH ON A MONSTROUS DOUBLE SCORING ONE RUN


BIGGIE DOUCETT LED ALL HITTERS WITH 2 HITS, 3 STOLEN BASES, AND LETS NOT FORGET THAT AUSTIN LUKE DID AN AMAZING JOB CATCHING, KEEPING THE RUNNING GAME UNDER CONTROL


GREAT GAME BY EVERYONE AND CONGRATULATIONS TO THE JUNIOR HIGH BASEBALL TEAM.

New York State School Music Association adjudication festival held at Greenport School on May 8, 2019

Congratulations to the Greenport student musicians who participated in the New York State School Music Association adjudication festival held at Greenport School on May 8, 2019
At each festival, students perform scales, a solo or ensemble piece of their choice from the designated NYSSMA repertoire, and a sight reading piece. The judges score and comment on the students’ performances according to defined guidelines set by NYSSMA. The grade sheets are then certified and sent to the music departments at the individual schools to be distributed to the students.
