Attention all Greenport Junior/Senior High School students seeking help with homework or studying, the National Honor Society will hold one hour of tutoring in the HS library every Tuesday and Thursday after school.  Once again, NHS Scholar Hour will be every Tuesday and Thursday after school in the HS library from 3 to 4pm. Come and ask for help!

Tuesday, November 14th, 2017 A Day

The Harlem Wizards are here tonight!  Come see your Principals and teachers play against the Harlem Wizards in what is sure to be a fun night.  The doors will open at 6 and the game starts at 7.  Tickets are available for purchase online at harlemwizards.com, in the elementary office, or McMann-Price insurance agency.  Tickets are cheaper in advance so this will be the last chance to get yours before the game.  Attention faculty and staff the PTO is still looking for a few more

players. Please see the email sent to your school accounts.

The boys and girls winter track team will meet for our first practice in the Greenport weight room today, Monday, Nov. 13. Please dress in layers and be prepared to practice inside and outside. Practice time will go from 3 pm to 4:45 pm. Make sure you have taken care of all necessary paperwork.

Wednesday, November 9th, 2017 A Day

There will be a short meeting for anyone interested in winter cheerleading after school on Thursday in room 104.


Lifetouch photographers will be here today during periods 4 to 7 in the auditorium for picture retake day.


Basketball meeting on Thursday 11/9 for anyone in grades 9 through 12 interested in playing JV or Varsity basketball this year. Meeting will be in Mr.Golden’s room (room 322) at 3:00


Mr. Golden is asking that anyone who is interested in participating in JV or V wrestling to please stop by the athletic office and let Mrs. Dinizio know.  We need to have an idea of how many of our students will be participating. There will be a Varsity wrestling meeting immediately after school in the large gym by the boys locker room. If you are unable to make it please see Mr. Fioretti before the end of the day.


School will be closed tomorrow, November 10th in honor of Veteran’s Day.

Congratulations to the Southold – Greenport Girls’ varsity soccer team as they defeated Haldane 2 to 1 on Friday in the NYS Regional Quarterfinal game.

Goals were scored by none other than Grace Syron and Jillian Golden.

The team now advances to the state final four this Saturday at Homer High School in Cortland NY.

Friday, November 3, 2017 B Day

Attention junior high students who leave the building for lunch a reminder, again, to follow the proper safety rules when walking downtown and back. It is dangerous to walk in the middle of the road in traffic and to put glass bottles in crosswalks for cars to drive over to break. Students displaying these actions will be subject to loss of lunch privileges.

Attention students who were assigned detention today. Mrs. Hopkins needs to reschedule your assigned time to Monday. Please serve your detention then. If you missed any detention this week, show up on Monday as well.

Attention Juniors and Seniors….. Yankee Candle Order forms are due today. Please turn them into Ms Douglass, Mrs Kollen, or Mrs. Hopkins ASAP.

Since we did not have enough people sign up, there will be no spectator bus to the girls’ game this afternoon.  Will Lupita Perez, William Reyes and Breanna Shelby please report to the Athletic Office so that your money can be returned to you.


Attention 7 to 12 graders – if you are into Science Fiction, if you like to sing and dance, if you are not claustrophobic and ever dreamed of being a life sized puppet or if your vocal talents lead you to talk in strange and funny ways, then this year’s HS musical Little Shop of Horrors is for YOU! Come to the meeting this afternoon at 2:45 pm in the HS library to see just how this musical can be part of your life for the next 4 months!

Attention all students in grades 7 to 12 who are interested in being a part of the HS Spring musical, Little Shop of Horrors, there will be a meeting after school on Friday, November 3rd in the HS library. All those interested in performing, building and designing sets and being part of the crew are welcome to attend.


A representative will be in guidance tomorrow at 11 am from Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology which is located in Flushing, New York.  The most popular majors are Transportation & Materials Moving, Transportation and Engineering.

If you would like to meet with this rep, please get a pass from guidance.
