Thursday, February 4th, 2016 B Day

Attention all students:

Students are not allowed on the 2nd and 3rd floor during your lunch period.

If you are staying in the building for lunch, please remain in the cafeteria until the end of lunch.

If you go out for lunch, please report to the cafeteria when you return. Students who need to meet with a teacher during their lunch period must get a pass from that teacher to go to their classroom. Students who wish to go to the library must also get a pass.

Attention all outing club members going on the Ski Trip this Weekend- Please meet at the school this Saturday 6:00 am sharp!  If you do not have all your paperwork in (insurance card) or money please see Ms. Douglass, Mrs. Agosta or Mrs. Burke ASAP!!!

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016 A Day

Attention acappella group!  Practice for today has been cancelled.  Once again, there will be no acappella practice today.  For those of you who are also in Oliver, please arrive at practice at 3 pm instead, thank you.

Attention students interested in Driver’s Ed. Sign up is still going on in the business office for the spring course. Please see Mr. Davies with any questions or concerns.

Attention Juniors…  We will have a class meeting today at 2:45 in room 318 to discuss and vote on prom royalty items.  See Ms. Douglass with questions or concerns.

Attention all boys in grades 9 to 12 interested in playing baseball. There will be a brief informational meeting today at 2:50 pm in room 322. Please make every effort to attend. The meeting will last 10 minutes at most. If you cannot attend, please see Mr. Sage at your earliest convenience.

Student Work at Parrish Art Museum through 2/28

This past Saturday was the Elementary opening celebration at the Parish Art Museum 2016 Student Exhibit. Both Greenport elementary and high school students were featured in the show. Mrs. Baglivi and Ms. Sweeney couldn’t be prouder of the student’s hard work!

Join Mrs. Baglivi this coming Satruday for the High School opening celebration from 2:30 – 4:30.
The exhibit will be open to the public until February 28th. Parrish Art Museum is located at 279 Montauk Hwy, Water Mill.

Today is the last regents for this week. This morning at 8 am is the Algebra2/Trig Regents


Drama Club members, please  check you emails for updated information in regards to rehearsals. Starting Monday all cast members are needed for every rehearsal as we start to run the complete show.

Nicholas Wallace January Rotary Student of the Month

Congratulations to Nicholas Wallace for being named Greenport Rotary Student of the Month for January.  Nick is a star athlete on the Varsity Track and Field Team having been recognized as an All-County player. He was the MVP of Greenport varsity soccer team. He is a member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society and the Drama Club where he serves as the Co-President.
Currently Nick is taking college level courses in Chemistry and Pre-Calculus and has taken or is taking AP courses in Microeconomics, Biology, Environmental Science and World History.
Outside of GHS,  he is a member of Greenport Boy Scout Troop 51 and is  working on the rank of Eagle Scout, an altar server at St. Agnes Church, and a Certified First Responder with a local fire department.
His college plans are undecided at this point, but he did include a visit to MIT this weekend.
