Congratulations to Ginger Hughes on her Teeny Award Nomination for her role as Puck in the combined Greenport/Southold production of “Shakespeare in Hollywood”. Congratulations as well to stage managers Garrick Hughes and Shannon Colfer who are recognized by the East End Arts Foundation for all that they have done in both the combined Greenport/Southold production of “Shakespeare in Hollywood” and the GHS spring musical, “Oliver”.

NYSSMA student helpers should report to Mrs. Goodland’s room at 2:35 today.

“Attention Juniors and Seniors…. Prom is quickly approaching and ticket prices will be rising.  Get signed up with Ms. Douglass today.  The Black and Gold Masquerade is an event you will not want to miss.”Permission slips for guests who attend other schools are due no later than May 13th. You can get these from Ms. Douglass.

Wednesday, May 4, 2016 A Day

The PTA will be busy this week.

They will be holding a plant sale in the school lobby for Mother’s Day. Please stop by and see what they have for sale.

In honor of Teacher’s Appreciation Week breakfast will be served in the Elementary Library for all faculty and staff.

Finally, on Saturday from 8 am to noon, they will be holding a clothing drive. You may drop off your donated items ahead of time, or bring on Saturday morning.

Volunteers are all are needed and welcome. More details on these events can be found on their facebook page.

“Attention all of Mrs. Manfredi’s High School and Junior High Phys. Ed. Students:  All PE classes will meet in the High School Library today, May 4th.  This includes Periods 2,5.6.7. and 9.”

The last SAT review will take place tonight. The exam is this Saturday.

Congratulations to the middle school track and field team for competing in their first meet at Westhampton yesterday.  Even in the cold rain the team placed first and third in almost every event!  Chris Kuczynski took first in the 3000 and set a team record with a time of 11:52; Jessica Villareal earned a personal best in the triple jump, Ella Mazzaferro won first place in the 55 dash.  Lastly, a shout out to Mack and Donovan for assistant managing and all of our Greenport teammates on an outstanding job!

Congratulations to the following ladies who placed in their individual events at the Westhampton Track & Field Invational on Saturday, April 30th: Hayley Brigham, 4th in Novice 400meter sprint in 67.1 secs., Marina DeLuca 4th in Novice 100meter sprint, Marie Cullen 5th in Freshman 100meter high hurdles,  Kyla Smiley 3rd in Open 200meter sprint in 28.4 secs, Blayr Corrazzini 6th in Novice 1500 meter race walk in 9min. 42 secs. and Emelys Villareal 8th in Novice 800meter race in 2:38.  Hayley, Blayr and Emelys set school records in their events.  Additionally, Emelys set the school record in the 2000meter steeplechase on Wednesday at the Port Jeff steeplefest with a time of 8min 54secs.

Friday, April 22, 2016 B Day

There will be acappella practice at 10:55 today!

Good luck wishes go out to Valentina Acero and the Southold Robotoics team as they travel next week to competition in St Louis.

The school doctor will be here on Thursday, May 12 from 11 a.m. – noon for sports physicals.  If you’ve already signed up with Mrs. Dinizio, please make sure you show up.  Anyone who has not signed up but needs a physical for next year, please see Mrs. Dinizio, ASAP.

Dismissal today will be at the end of period 4 for all students in grades 7 to 12. 4th period lunch students who need to wait for transportation home at the end of fourth period are to report to the cafeteria and wait with the teachers who are on lunch duty that period. Thank you.

School will not be in session next week due to the spring recess. Classes resume on Monday, May 2nd.
