Reminder to all seniors and juniors:  Holy Moses Cheesecake/Pies fundraising packets are due!!  Please return them to Mrs. Hopkins, Mrs. Kollen or Ms. Douglass ASAP…

The DECA meeting is scheduled for this Thursday, 10/22 at 5:30. If you are interested in joining the DECA Club, please come to the meeting or talk to one of the DECA Club officers, Max Mastrangelo, President, Ryan Costello, Vice President, Katie Tuthill, Treasurer and Madison Tabor, Secretary.

The Southold Robotics Team will meet this Wednesday, October 21st from 7 – 8:30 pm in the Tech Room at Southold H.S.  All members are expected to attend.

Attention all Quill members there will be a meeting on Wednesday @ 7:15 am in the morning! Everyone should attend!

Attention students:  Sign up for Porter Pep Rally activities will begin Tuesday.  You will be able to sign up for 1 activity in the high school library 3 -9 periods.  Beginning Thursday you can sign up for more activities if there is room.

There are new games and  new projects so everyone should stop by and see what’s available.  See Mrs. Richter with questions.

Spirit Week starts Today

Themes are:

Today  – Pajama Day

Tuesday – Tropical Tuesday (beach theme)

Wednesday – Disney Day

Thursday – Celebrity Day

Friday – Purple and Gold Day.

Points will be awarded to each class for the number of students who participate each day.  A prize will be awarded at the end of the week during the pep rally.

Tickets are now on sale for the upcoming Greenport/Southold combined drama Shakespeare in Hollywood on Halloween weekend hosted here at Greenport.

Tickets can be purchased at Southold Library, William Floyd Library, or in the HS office. Adult tickets are $10, student and senior tickets are $6.

The following colleges will be in guidance:

Tuesday, October 20th at 11am, SUNY Oneonta located in Oneonta, New York.  The most popular majors are Education, Visual & Performing Arts, and Communications.

Thursday, October 22nd at 11am, Utica College located in Utica, New York.  The most popular majors are Health Professions, Security & Protection and Business.

Thursday, October 15th, 2015 B Day

ATTENTION ALL BAND STUDENTS – there will be NO individual lessons today, October 15th or tomorrow October 16th. JH and SH Band please report to your regular class.

Attention all students in grades 9 through 12:  Our homecoming dance is scheduled for tonight  from 7 – 9:30 in the small gym.  Tickets are only $7 if you buy them before Thursday – $10 at the door.  See Mrs. Richter or any Student Council member for tickets.

Mrs. Taylor would like to remind all 7th and 8th grade students to please turn in your fundraising money to her.

Congratulations to the varsity girls field hockey team on their win against Babylon. Winning goals were scored during an overtime shoot out by Jules Atkins, Madison Hilton, and Madison Tabor.

Congratulations to the Greenport JS football team on the win over Westhampton 33-21. Kobe Suglia had 1 touchdown and Ahkee Anderson had 4 touchdowns.

Friday, October 9, 2015 A Day

Any stage crew member current or new is welcome to come this weekend to help work on the Shakespeare in Hollywood set Saturday from 10 to 4 and Monday from 8 to 4. Please check with Garrick Hughes.

                

ATTN to all students riding bicycles to school. Please store you bike in the bike racks provided outside on the school grounds. Do not leave them in the front foyer of the building. Thank you.

Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Volleyball team for their 3 set victory against Stony Brook last night.  The Clippers won 25-19, 25-23, and 25-17. Paige Asimenios and Marina DeLuca combined for  12 kills and 8 aces, Mercedes Edwards served 6 aces and Sidney Mulvaney had 18 assists..  The team is 4-2 in league and has qualified for County playoffs with two league games left on their schedule.

Shakespeare will be giving away prizes in room 211 today.

The first ten people to arrive at 2:45 pm will receive their own monologue.

The celebration will begin at 2:45pm.

Congratulations to the JH Football team on their win over Hampton Bays. Xavier Allen had 3 touchdowns. Isaiah Johnson intercepted a return  for a touchdown. Ahkee Anderson had 3 touchdowns and an interception.

Wednesday, October 7th, 2015 – "A" Day

Attention Juniors:  PSAT Review class will be Thursday, October 8th from 6:30pm – 10pm in Rooms 211 and 213.

PSAT exam will be on Wednesday, October 14th.  Please report to your homeroom for attendance next Wednesday.
