Seniors if you are going to Florida on the trip you must stop into guidance to get your id copied as well as stop in with your rooms of 4 girls and 4 boys. One boy’s room will have 3 in it. Please do this all by tomorrow.


Oliver rehearsal today for full cast also we have added a rehearsal tomorrow after school for everyone in Consider Yourself. The 6th grade chorus needs to be at rehearsal both today and tomorrow. Please see Nellie Spackman or Mrs. Peterson with any questions.


Anyone who needs a physical for sports is asked to sign up for one with Mrs. Dinizio in the HS office by this Friday. Would Antonio Anderson and Tyrus Smiley please report to Mrs. Dinizio, thank you.

Regents & Midterm Exams: Jan 19 to Jan 29

Dear High School Students and Parents,

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had an enjoyable and restful holiday. Within the next few weeks the school year will reach its midpoint. Teachers and staff are preparing to administer their midterm assessments for their respective courses. Attached is a copy of a Mid-Term Assessment Schedule we will be utilizing from January 19th through January 25th. The assessments will take place during class time, but will require preparation outside of the school day. These local midterm exams are given at the discretion of the classroom teacher.

Greenport High School will be administering Regents examinations from January 26th through January 29th. All classes are in session during these days. These exams are being offered for students who are scheduled for retakes or credit recovery. Please see guidance with any questions regarding exam registration.
Be prepared, study hard and do well.

If you are planning to go on the Outdoor Club Winter Adventure at the end of this month and have not seen Mrs. Burke, Mrs. Agosta or Ms. Douglass, you must do so immediately.  Our final count is due tomorrow  and no additional travelers will be allowed after this date.  Please see us with any questions about this great opportunity.”

Danielle Fauteux Rotary Student of the Month December

Danielle Fauteux is a senior and a member of our NJROTC program, a varsity softball player and a member of Interact. She joined the East Marion Fire Department at 17 years old and was trained as a certified first responder.  As she came to the age when to decide on expanding her education, Danielle decided to become an EMT to be able to respond to rescue calls and care and transport patients. She would like to go to school to become a physician assistant and work in an emergency room setting and has applied to Pace University, St. John’s University, SUNY Albany, Brooklyn College, City College, and Queen’s College. Danielle also volunteers at Mauren’s Haven.

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2015 B Day

Attention students and faculty:  GHS Student Council will be giving out free hot chocolate, tomorrow morning starting at 7:30 am outside the library.  Please stop by and enjoy a cup to start your day.

Hall decorations will be taken down tomorrow afternoon. If you are free 9th period, come  help pack up the decorations until next year.

Attention drama club members, there is rehearsal today for the full cast. Please see Mrs. Peterson in the HS office if you have any questions or conflicts.

Reminder this week school will be in session on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  Also that WEDNESDAY is ugly Christmas sweater day. All are welcome to participate. Prize awards to the ugliest.

ATTN Seniors: If you are going on the senior trip, please bring your id card to guidance ASAP to be photocopied.

Oliver rehearsal today for full cast – we will be blocking Act 2.

After attendance is taken, will all 9-2 classes report to the auditorium and all 7 & 8 classes report to the gym.
